On Thursday, May 30, FGIDC members and DC area beauty aficionados including Stephanie Green of WWD and Jamie Gulin of Greg’s List DC gathered at Bloomingdale’s Chevy Chase for a beauty workshop with Estée Lauder. Estée Lauder’s Director of Education Christopher McKinney shared make up artist secrets for beautiful on-trend sophisticated faces. From the smoky eye to contouring; effective use of lip liner to the proper way to apply foundation, the information was supremely useful and full of timeless tips. For example, most of us are using 3 times more foundation than we need. Christopher demonstrated how by using a foundation brush and the exact right color; you can apply foundation to just 25% of your face. Thanks to Estée Lauder’s color match tool, Color IQ, attendees were able to take the guessing out of color match and let science do the work.
While enjoying wine and artful hors d’oeuvres, new fashion connections were made and makeovers were had. FGIDC is extremely grateful to Bloomingdale’s for hosting and donating 15% of the event’s sales to FGIDC.
If you were not able to make the event or just want more time with an Estée Lauder beauty expert, Bloomingdale’s invites you in for a one-on-one consultation to find your perfect shade, call and schedule your appointment at 240-744-3777.
